1-Trouble in Tacoma (working title)

Coming Spring 2027 (Kregel Publications)

Welcome to Washington Territory, 1880. Red-haired Jenny Grant met Andi Carter at a girls’ school in San Francisco. Together, they got in and out of more scrapes than you can shake a stick at. Now, Jenny is back for her own adventure series. Her family owns Timberland Lumber, a logging company taming the wild forests around Puget Sound. Jenny’s father and three older brothers–Josiah, Eli, and Caleb–work in the woods and at their sawmill on the waterfront.

Jenny and her two other brothers, Micah, one year older than Jenny, and Gideon, three years younger, form an unbreakable bond and explore the hills and valleys, the waterfront and the dark forests of this rugged land.

The first book in this new series explores the trouble that lands on Jenny when her spotted horse, Raindrop, takes to wandering Tacoma’s streets, violating the new ordinance. Later, real trouble looms in the never-ending rains and rising Puyallup River. A landslide and a logjam give the three explorers more adventure than even they were expecting.

🔎 Sneak Peek

Read the first chapter of Trouble in Tacoma by signing up with your email for access to my special page. Note: Some things will no doubt change, especially this early in the process. In fact, “Timberland Trails” may not end up being the series title. But part of the fun of being an author is watching an idea come to full bloom.

I invite you to join me on this brand-new journey. Seriously, this is the first new series I’ve done in years (all the rest of my books have been additions to the established Circle C and Goldtown series). This first chapter might be a little rough (for now), but it will be fun to watch things progress, right? Grab your sneak peek below. And check back for other fun surprises over the next several months.
